  1. This is a commissioned art contest. If your design is selected as the winner, you agree to turn over full rights of the artwork to Royal Gorge Art Alliance and Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival.
  2. Participation in any show implies consent for the Royal Gorge Art Alliance to photograph or film your artwork for use in publicity, marketing materials, our website, social media, and other promotional channels.
Entry Guidelines
ENTRY GUIDELINES:
  • When submitting your file, please name your file using this format [FULLNAME_2026 RWGF ART ENTRY] so we can keep track of all artwork.
  • Must be Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival-themed
  • Artwork should be suitable for a variety of merch, including 18×24 posters, shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, patches, etc.
  • Artwork MUST be human-generated and original. We will not use AI-generated work, and we will be able to tell when it is.
  • Artist must be a resident of Fremont or Custer County
  • Must be 18 years or older to enter.
  • Artwork must be uploaded in a digital format that is scalable without compromising image quality.
**Work deemed inappropriate or harmful will not be considered.
Contest Deadlines
The contest deadline is May 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM MST.
Your design must be uploaded by or before this time.
The form for this contest will close at 11:59 on May 15, 2026, and contest winners will be announced by May 31, 2026.
Awards & Recognition
  • Awards are also announced on our RGAA Facebook Page, our website, and through email on May 31, 2026.
  • The winner will receive a $500 cash award and a physical award.
  • Awards will be presented at the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival on July 18, 2026.
  • The selected winner’s design will be featured on the 2026 Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival merchandise

Can I submit AI-generated art?

While we know AI is a big part of the world now, all artwork entered should be human-generated and original. You can create your art on canvas, in Procreate, paper, etc, but please refrain from using AI. We have many people on our team who can tell whether your art is AI-generated.
